Alexandre Bouzlov

Alexandre Bouzlov was born in Moscow in 1983. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 2006. He has received advanced instruction from Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniil Shafran, Natalia Shakhovskaya, Boris Talalay, Eberhard Finke, and Bernard Greenhouse. He currently teaches at the Moscow Conservatory and provides master classes in Russia, the USA, and Europe.

He won his first Grand Pix award when he was just thirteen years old at the Mozart 96 Competition in Monte Carlo. He is now winner of more than 10 international competitions, among them the ARD International Cello Competition in Munich (2005, Second Prize), the International Tchaikovsky Competition (2007, Second Prize and prize for the best interpretation of a Tchaikovsky piece), the LXIII International Cello Competition in Geneva (2008, Second Prize), the Emanuel Feuermann Cello Competition (Berlin, 2010, Grand Prix and audience favourite award).

Alexandre Bouzlov regularly goes on tour to Russian cities and abroad in the USA, England, Scotland, Germany, France, Israel, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Belgium and the Czech Republic. He is a participant in international festivals such as the Kremlin Music Festival, Moscow Autumn, December Nights of Sviatoslav Richter, the Ars Longa Festival, the Stars of the White Nights, Arts Square, and Musical Olympus festivals; as well as in festivals in Luxembourg, Usedom, and Colmar; the Oleg Kogan Memorial Festivals in Moscow and Kreuth; the international festivals of chamber music in Giverny and Montpellier; and the Crescendo, Chanel, Ginza, and Seiji Ozawa Academy festivals.
